On November 23, 2020, TASS held an online press conference under the National Project "Ecology": Technologies for recovering water bodies after pollution, that considered preventing the risks caused by blue-green algae blooms and advanced methods of fighting bacteria.
Anthropogenic factors, the influence of blue-green algae on the ecosystem of water bodies and rivers, technologies for recovery of water bodies and prospective development of treatment facilities were spoken about by Director of State Government Institution "Directorate of Specially Protected Natural Territories of St. Petersburg" Tatiana Kovalyova; Head of the Expert and Analytical Department of the FSBI "Centre for Laboratory Analysis and Technical Measurements at North-West Federal District" (CLATM) Nikita Khromov; Head of the Hydrobiology Laboratory at the Institute of Limnology of RAS (IL RAS – SPC RAS) Evgeny Kurashov and Leading Researcher of Scientific Research Centre of Ecological Safety of RAS (SRCES RAS – SPC RAS) Andrei Sharov.
