On April 26, 2021, TASS held the online press conference commemorating the thirty five years since the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident. Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Laboratory of Land Use and Crop Production of N-W CIRPFM - SPC RAS Mikhail Arkhipov; Professor of the Higher School of Nuclear and Thermal Power Engineering of the Power Engineering Institute at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) Evgeny Fedorovich; Professor of the Higher School of Applied Mathematics and Computational Physics of the Applied Mathematics and Mechanics Institute at SPbPU Dmitry Pashkevich and Professor, Leading Researcher of the A.F.Ioffe Physical and Technical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Anatoly Kovalenko spoke about the accident consequences’ elimination, rehabilitation and monitoring of agricultural land, as well as advanced state-of-the-art research aimed at ensuring the radiation safety.
