Among the participants of the conference were representatives of the executive authorities of the regions of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and St. Petersburg, heads and representatives of tertiary institutions, experts whose professional activity concerns training, retraining and advanced training of personnel.
The conference discussed the specificity and tasks of training specialists for the Arctic sectors of the economy, the factors motivating young people to work in the Arctic, the opportunities and experience of leading tertiary institutions and enterprises of St. Petersburg in training the qualified personnel for the development of the Arctic, the relevance of forming an advanced personnel reserve for the digital and industrial transformation of enterprises of economic sectors and social institutions.
At the session "The system of higher education: specificity of training specialists for the Arctic sectors of economy", Vladimir Nikolaevich Surovtsev, Director of IAERST St. Petersburg FIT RAS, delivered a presentation: "The topicality of the personnel training and advanced training, thus, allowing for the introduction of automated and digital technologies in the agricultural sector in the Arctic zone regions".
The conference revealed the growing importance of the training quality of personnel for the Arctic development, the significance of integrating educational and research institutions, large public and private corporations, the government authorities into the Arctic oriented personnel training and retraining.
