Workshop took place on March 14 at the premises of SPC RAS, in the already familiar hybrid format; three presentations were delivered, versatilely highlighting the problem under discussion and approaches to its solving.

Workshop also considered the prospects of applying solutions in the automatic recognition of Karelian speech, the possibilities of ethnic tourism as a way to restore the traditional culture of the peoples at the Northwest somewhat subjected to the challenges of globalization and the problems of preserving and transforming the habitat of small native peoples.

Dr. Irina S. Kipyatkova, Senior Researcher at SPIIRAS, Associate Professor; Dr. Alexandra V. Bocharnikova, Researcher at SRCES RAS – SPC RAS; Prof. Alexander I. Kostyaev, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, were the presenters at the Workshop.

Topics under discussion attracted a lively interest of the Workshop participants, also new ideas in regard to joint research projects have evolved.

Workshop attendees noted the urgent need for the speedy implementation of technologies and methods proposed by SPC RAS researchers and their relevance.
