A group of researchers from the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPC RAS) and the Presidential Academy have developed unique algorithms for transparent and automated assessment of the success rate for the managers' career trajectory. The development allows for analyzing the effectiveness of implementing the university educational programs, as well as personnel projects that involve various levels managers from government agencies, private companies, and corporations.

SPC RAS (SPIIRAS – St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences) has been participating in the international QS agency ranking of research organizations since 2017. In the 2025 ranking, it got the 96th place in the overall list of all selected Russian organizations and the third place in Russia among research organizations in Engineering.

Researchers of the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPC RAS) jointly with colleagues from the Botanical Institute named after Komarov, the Nizhne-Svirsky State Reserve and a branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography perform comprehensive monitoring of the state of the environment (composition of soils, water, biodiversity, etc.) in the Surgut district of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug at sites of the Surgutneftegaz group of fields – one of the largest Russian oil and gas companies.
