In accordance with the orders of The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation of December 18, 2019 No. 1399 and of June 08, 2020 No. 768 on SPIIRAS basis with joining IL RAS, SRCES RAS, FSRI IAERD, N-W CIRPFM, FSRI “Novgorod SRAI” was established The Federal State Institution of Science “St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences” (SPC RAS).

On December 10, 2020 took place the international on-line conference «Regional Strategies in Social and Economic Development: Target Orientation», arranged by Institute of Problems in Regional Economics of RAS (IPRE RAS). Totally fifteen scientific presentations were heard.

In 2020 the «Speech and Computer Conference» SPECOM entered the international list of top-conferences in Computer Science. 2020 added new experience to the conference organizers: for the first time SPECOM functioned completely in on-line format using Zoom service.
Researchers from the SPC RAS Laboratory of speech and multimodal interfaces won at the international competitions in computer paralinguistics INTERSPEECH ComParE 2020.
The event was organized by "The Institute of Milk" and was held from October 21 -23, 2020 in Voronezh. The business program included presentations and discussions on the most relevant issues in the dairy industry.
