Researchers of the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPC RAS) have developed the "Cargotime" software, that allows to automatically track any movement of a cargo transported by sea carriers on container ships over the world. The above development is expected to make the work of logistics companies more efficient and convenient. Information about the cargo status can be monitored on the application's site by container numbers or received automatically via a telegram-bot.

At Leningrad Research Computer Center (LRCC) of the USSR Academy of Sciences had been developed one of the country's first global information and computer network, the AcademNetwork “North-West”.

Researchers of the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPC RAS) as a part of an international research group have developed a system for early detection of concentrations of pollutants dangerous for living organisms in the waters of the Gulf of Finland. The method is based on the analysis of the functional state of mollusks living in water using special biomarkers. The development will allow for timely predicting environmental risks in advance identifying the most vulnerable areas of the Russian part of the Gulf of Finland.
