Сhief Researcher of SPC RAS delivered presentation on some innovations in water purification at the Chinese Wenzhou University

Sergey Kholodkevich, Chief Researcher of the Laboratory of Bioelectronic Methods of Geoecological Monitoring at the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPC RAS), made two presentations at Wenzhou University of China. His communications, in particular, considered methods cleaning the toxic cyanobacteria out of reservoirs.

Research team of SPC RAS has developed a system for wireless charging robots underwater

Specialists of the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPC RAS) have developed a system that allows for wireless transferring energy underwater. The development, that has no analogues in the Russian Federation, particularly, will find an application in geological exploration and monitoring of water bodies, where such systems will be able to reliably and safely service the corresponding robotic systems.

Ksenia Zaripova, the SPC RAS Researcher, has studied the contamination intensity of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Bay waters versus bacteria population

Research expedition within the Federal Scientific and Educational Program “Floating University”, that engaged the geo-ecologist of SPC RAS, investigated the anthropogenic load on the coastal waters of the South-Eastern part of Kamchatka by assessing the population of bacteria that characterize water pollution. The maximum indices of pollutants were recorded in the Avacha Bay, where the port city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsy located. The received research results can be used at assessing the environmental situation of the coastal zone.

SPC RAS staff members in the STV coverage told about the environmental studies of the deposits of the Surgut district of Yugra

Researchers of the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPC RAS) jointly with colleagues from the Botanical Institute named after Komarov, the Nizhne-Svirsky State Reserve and a branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography perform comprehensive monitoring of the state of the environment (composition of soils, water, biodiversity, etc.) in the Surgut district of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug at sites of the Surgutneftegaz group of fields – one of the largest Russian oil and gas companies.
