Honorary Chairmen of the conference were Hongqiao, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Igor Kalyaev, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The conference was held as a hybrid one: online and full-time participation in Gurugram, New Delhi, India. SPECOM-2022 was organized and hosted by the Indian group of KIIT colleges in cooperation with SPC RAS (co–chaired by the SPC RAS Chief Researcher Professor A.A. Karpov). India appeared to be the 10th country where SPECOM was held, and same time the first Asian country in the conference’s history.

Researcher of the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center (SPC RAS) has published a four-volume dedicated to the life and work of Viktor Kochedamov, an outstanding Soviet architect and scientist, whose projects were used to erect buildings in pre–war Stalingrad, and later in the cities of Siberia, Central Asia and other territories. The edition incorporates materials about the biography of the architect, his articles and monographs, including those not published before. The books are accompanied by extensive professional comments and explanations by modern scientists from Russia and Uzbekistan.

Developers of the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of RAS (SPC RAS) have created an intelligent system for the DAK-250 dredger control, able to automatically recognize the type of soil, to work at significant waves in the water area, and guarantee the correctness of the dredger position during sampling. In addition, due to a number of sensors, the device is able to record the temperature at various depths and the submersion depth with an accuracy of 1 cm. The data are recorded in the device's memory and can be easily transmitted wirelessly. The device functionality will significantly increase the correctness and speed of sampling, as well as provide for additional data extremely useful for the subsequent processing.

The first test flights of a light unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of a multi-copter type intended for blood transporting have been run starting January 2022. To transport the samples of blood components the UAV of domestic production was used, whose maximum payload weight equals 15 kg; a container attachment system for the transportation of biological materials was also developed.
